This is a 15 month program for enabling executives with serious work experience to take up lateral level management positions. This program provides general management and functional area skills to executives with a variety of sectoral experiences from their previous work experience. The program will have Indian as well as international participants making for a cross-cultural environment and international experience sharing.

 

Eligibility

Graduates in the 10+2+3 system in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (includes a large number of Indian as well as international degrees) with full-time experience of around 5 years. High proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.

 

Participant’s Profile

Executives around 5 years or more of full-time post graduation work experience who have the potential to be leaders and shapers of their companies in the international business arena. Participants can belong to the following categories:


Self sponsored executives who finance their participation in the program.

Company sponsored executives who would return to their companies after the program.

 

Owner managers who take time off from their businesses and would return to their businesses after the program.

 

International professionals from countries with whom the Government of India runs scholarship programs as well as fee paying students who would return to their country after the program.

 

Placement Assistance

IMI will provide assistance in lateral placement for self sponsored participants.

 

Program  Duration

15 months starting from March 29, 2010. This will include 12 months of full-time course work plus 3 months of field  project work that can be conducted in the company the participant is employed in.

 

Selection Process ( IMI test*/ Personal interview)  on  Sunday, January 31, 2010.
Candidates will be required to take the GMAT and submit these scores along with the application for admission. Candidates short listed  based on their application and GMAT scores will be called for an interview to assess suitability for benefiting from the course. International students under the Government of India Scholarship Program will be interviewed at the Indian Embassy in their country. International fee paying students will have to submit TOEFL scores in addition to GMAT scores.


* Those who could not appear in CAT / GMAT will have to clear IMI test before the Interviews.

 

Program Structure and Curriculum

The program is built around 12 months of course work and a 3 month field -project at the end of the course work. The project will be conducted at the place of employment of the participant where they will be working after completing their 12 months of course work. The project will be jointly guided by an IMI faculty and a  project supervisor  from the employer organization.

 

Program Content*

The program is designed for delivery in 4 terms of course work followed by a project. The 4 terms will span about 12 months and the project will be completed over 3 months.


The complete program will be worth 76.5 credits. Each credit corresponds to the equivalent of 10 hours of classroom contact. Out of 76.5 credits, 70.5 credits will be course work and 6  credits will be the project. The academic course work ( 705 contact hours) will be spread over the four terms as follows.

Award of Degree

An Executive Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive PGDM) will be awarded to participants on the successful completion of the course work and project.

 

Mode of Payment

All the payments have to be made on or before the date mentioned.  The fee should be paid by demand draft or pay order drawn in favor of International Management Institute and payable at New Delhi.
